Tehran is to host screening of a documentary on the Oscar-winning drama 'The Salesman'.

Tehran has been set to host the premiere of a documentary on the Oscar-winning drama 'The Salesman'.

The documentary titled 'About the Salesman' will be screened at the Art and Experience group in Iranian cinema theaters.

Directed and produced by Vahid Sedaqat and Tahmineh Monzavi, the documentary shows how the idea of making the film began to form and how the various stages of production went on.

Top international film critics such as Godfrey Cheshire, Peter Bradshaw, Fabio Ferzetti, Philippe Rouyer, Michel Ciment, and Hushang Golmakani have talked about the much-admired 'The Salesman' in the documentary.

'The Salesman' tells the story of a young couple named Emad (Shahab Hosseini) and Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti) who move into a new flat in the center of Tehran. But an incident linked to the previous tenant dramatically changes their life.

Being Iran’s submission to the 89th Academy Awards in the best foreign language film category, the film has already won double awards for best screenplay and best actor at the Cannes Film Festival this year.

Farhdi's most famous movie, ‘A Separation’, grabbed global recognition as becoming the first Iranian movie to win an Oscar at the 84th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film.
